## Specifications

| Spec | Value |
|---|---|
| Coating thickness | 8–25 µm |
| Tolerance impact | Grows ~50% of coating thickness per surface (a 12 µm coat adds ~6 µm per face, ~12 µm on a diameter); we machine pre-finish dimensions to compensate when the finish is on the quote. Threads and precision bores can be masked instead. |
| Corrosion rating | 336 h salt spray (ASTM B117, per MIL-A-8625 Type II). |
| Appearance | Satin silver-gray that preserves the metallic look; texture follows the surface beneath — bead blast first for a uniform premium matte. |
| Applicable substrates | aluminum |

## Not suitable for

Surfaces that must remain electrically conductive (the oxide is an insulator — mask grounding points or use chromate conversion); non-aluminum metals; assemblies mixing alloys where exact color match matters (alloy chemistry shifts the tone).

## Typical applications

- General corrosion protection on aluminum housings and structures
- Heat sinks and thermal components (thin oxide, minimal thermal penalty)
- Robot and drone structural parts
- Marine-exposed aluminum hardware
