## When to choose it

Specify 6063 when the part will be seen and touched: its fine grain anodizes clearer and more uniformly than 6061, and thermal conductivity is the best of the 6xxx series.

## When to look elsewhere

Avoid for load-bearing structure — at 145 MPa yield it is roughly half as strong as 6061. Carry the load in 6061 and reserve 6063 for the visible skin.
