## Mechanical properties (typical values, not certified minimums)

| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Tensile strength | 90 MPa |
| Yield strength | ~90 MPa |
| Hardness | R123 (Rockwell) |
| Density | 1.35 g/cm³ |
| Machinability | ★★★☆☆ (3/5) |
| Corrosion resistance | ★★★★★ (5/5) |

## When to choose it

You need PEEK-like chemical resistance and 200 °C stability but the budget says no: PPS absorbs almost no moisture, holds precision dimensions hot, and costs meaningfully less.

## When to look elsewhere

The part takes impact or flexure — PPS is comparatively brittle and notch-sensitive. For shock-loaded parts choose PPSU or nylon; above ~220 °C, only PEEK remains.

## Typical applications

- Chemical pump housings and impeller parts
- High-temperature electrical connectors and insulators
- Precision fixtures for hot process environments
- Under-hood automotive sensor bodies
