Industry
Automotive
Development-speed prototypes and PPAP-ready volume parts for vehicle programs.
What slows this industry down
Automotive machining spans two worlds: development, where an EV team needs five inverter housings next week and the design will change twice more, and production, where a bracket must arrive in thousands, identical and documented at a locked price. Most suppliers serve one world and fail the other. Volume programs demand SPC with Cpk ≥ 1.33, PPAP-style documentation and IMDS material declarations that prototype shops cannot produce. Meanwhile blanket-order economics punish any vendor who cannot hold unit price across a model year.
Typical parts we machine
- Inverter and controller housings (prototype)
- Battery module end plates and busbars
- Sensor housings and radar brackets
- Thermal management cold plates
- Validation and assembly-line fixtures
Recommended materials

Aluminum 6061-T6
The default CNC aluminum: strong enough for most jobs, machines fast, anodizes well.

Carbon Steel 1045
The shaft steel: strong, cheap, induction-hardenable exactly where it counts.

Alloy Steel 4140
Chromoly muscle: deep-hardening alloy steel for heavily loaded shafts, tooling and gears.

POM (Delrin / Acetal)
The machinist's favorite: stiff, slippery, stable — plastic parts with metal-like precision.

Copper C110
The conductivity king: when watts or amps per gram is the whole point of the part.
Recommended finishes

Anodizing Type II (Clear)
The standard aluminum finish: hard, clear oxide that keeps the metallic look.

Zinc Plating
The economy rust-stopper: sacrificial zinc keeps protecting even when scratched.

Electroless Nickel Plating (ENP)
Plating without electricity: dead-uniform thickness everywhere, bores and threads included.

Passivation
Chemical hygiene for stainless: strips embedded iron so the steel can be as stainless as advertised.
Certifications & standards
- IATF 16949
- We understand IATF 16949 supplier expectations — process control, traceability and corrective-action discipline aligned with automotive quality systems.
- PPAP
- We support PPAP submissions with dimensional reports, material certs and process documentation in the format your SQE expects.
- ISO 9001
- We understand ISO 9001 forms the baseline for automotive purchasing audits and run documented, repeatable processes accordingly.
We understand and support these requirements; certification and documentation scope is confirmed per order.
