Choose it when
The design is flat-plate geometry where stiffness per gram decides the product — drone frames, robot arms, optical platforms. Quasi-isotropic layups give predictable in-plane behavior.
Look elsewhere when
The part needs true 3D features, threads or aluminum contact: laminates delaminate at threads and milled pockets, dust requires extraction, and bare contact with aluminum invites galvanic corrosion — isolate fasteners.
Typical applications
- Drone frames, arms and gimbal plates
- Lightweight robot arm and end-effector plates
- Optical breadboards and instrument platforms
- Motorsport and aerospace brackets
