Material properties
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Tensile strength | 83 MPa (dry) |
| Yield strength | ~83 MPa (dry) |
| Hardness | R120 (Rockwell, dry) |
| Density | 1.14 g/cm³ |
Choose it when
You like PA6 but need a bit more stiffness, hardness and service temperature — PA66 holds gear teeth and threads crisper and runs hotter for a negligible price difference.
Look elsewhere when
Moisture-driven swelling is the concern: PA66 absorbs slightly less water than PA6 but still far too much for precision fits — that problem is solved by POM, not by switching nylons.
Compatible finishes

As-Machined
The baseline finish: straight off the machine, fastest and cheapest.

Vibratory Tumbling
Batch deburring by the bowl-full: every edge broken, every burr gone, at volume prices.

Laser Marking
Permanent identification with zero dimensional change: serials, logos and codes burned in, not stuck on.
Typical applications
- Gears and cams running near 100 °C
- Electrical insulating blocks and spacers
- Bushings and thrust washers under load
- Automotive under-hood brackets
