Custom Forging buyer questions

Q-01Does FabVector supply forgings only, or forged and machined finished parts?

Both routes are available by RFQ. FabVector can coordinate the forged blank, heat treatment, CNC machining, surface finishing and dimensional inspection under one order. State whether you need a raw forging, a near-net blank or a finished component so tooling and machining allowances are quoted correctly.

Q-02What information is needed to quote a custom forged part?

Send the finished-part CAD and drawing, material grade, annual volume, load direction, heat-treatment and inspection requirements, plus any target grain-flow or NDT requirement. Tooling, forging route, machining allowance and MOQ are confirmed after engineering review; they are not covered by the instant CNC estimator.

Q-03Which heavy-industry parts are a good fit for forging?

Load-bearing pins, links, yokes, shafts, flanges, suspension parts and pressure components are common candidates when fatigue strength and grain flow matter. Very low-volume or highly detailed shapes may be cheaper from billet; FabVector compares the tooling and lifetime-volume trade-off before fixing the route.

Have a part in mind?

Upload CAD or drawings. Eligible CNC work gets an instant estimate; other processes move to engineer review. NDA-protected from the first byte.
