Carbon Fiber Machining buyer questions
Q-01Does the published carbon-fiber service include molded 3D composite parts?
The published scope is CNC routing, drilling, countersinking and trimming of flat carbon-fiber laminate sheet. Autoclave layup, molded shells and complex 3D composite tooling are separate capabilities that must be confirmed during engineering review; they should not be inferred from the sheet-machining page.
Q-02How does FabVector control delamination and dust when machining carbon fiber?
The route uses sharp diamond-coated tools, supported entry and exit surfaces, controlled feeds and local dust extraction. Hole edges and routed profiles are inspected for breakout and delamination; cosmetic or moisture-sensitive parts can add edge sealing in the RFQ.
Q-03What carbon-fiber parts are a good fit for CNC routing?
Flat drone frames, robot links, optical plates, electronics trays, test fixtures and motorsport panels are strong fits. Threads, deep 3D pockets and bearing seats usually need bonded inserts, an aluminum interface or a different process; send the assembly context so those interfaces are designed before cutting.
