Industrial 3D Printing buyer questions

Q-01Does FabVector provide both polymer and metal 3D printing?

Yes, through process-qualified routes selected per application: SLS, MJF, SLA or FDM for polymers and laser powder-bed fusion for reviewed metal parts. Material, orientation, support strategy, post-processing and inspection are confirmed by engineering rather than assumed from the file extension.

Q-02When should a buyer choose 3D printing instead of CNC machining?

Choose additive manufacturing for internal channels, topology-optimized shapes, fast concept iterations and low-volume fixtures that would waste most of a billet. Choose CNC when tight datums, certified wrought material, fine sealing surfaces or repeatable production tolerances decide the part. Hybrid parts can be printed near-net and CNC-finished.

Q-03Can 3D-printed parts receive machining, inserts, heat treatment and inspection?

Yes when specified in the RFQ. FabVector can coordinate CNC finishing of critical faces and holes, threaded inserts, heat treatment, coating and dimensional inspection. For metal additive parts, state density, witness-coupon, material-certificate or NDT requirements before the build because they change the process plan and price.
