Silk Screening
The multi-color marking: inked legends and logos where laser’s single tone is not enough.
Process specifications
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Process group | Marking |
| Coating thickness | Ink layer of 5–15 µm printed onto the surface — no substrate alteration; dimensions are unaffected. |
| Tolerance impact | None — the ink film is microns thin and sits only on designated graphic areas; all drawing tolerances apply unchanged. |
| Corrosion rating | Does not change substrate protection; the ink itself has moderate durability — abrasion and aggressive solvents wear printed legends over time (clear-coat option extends life). |
| Appearance | Crisp multi-color graphics in matched Pantone inks — white on black housings, color-coded scales, multi-color logos; applied after painting or anodizing as the final step. |
⚠ Not suitable for
High-wear faces — printed ink abrades off under repeated handling or sliding contact (use laser marking for permanent identification there); complex curved surfaces — the screen needs flat or single-curvature faces (pad printing or laser handle 3D forms); applications demanding lifetime traceability where ink loss is unacceptable.
