AI Hardware Parts
Edge AI Enclosures & Server Chassis
Rigid compute enclosures that align boards, connectors and thermal hardware.
Direct answer
Machined edge AI enclosures are appropriate when board, connector, optical or thermal interfaces need tighter alignment and stiffness than formed sheet metal provides. The RFQ should identify PCB datums, keep-out zones, thermal pads, EMI contact areas, inserts, cosmetic faces and post-finish dimensions.
Components and applications
- Edge inference computer enclosures
- Rugged GPU module housings
- Server tray and accelerator carriers
- Machine-vision AI controller cases
Recommended manufacturing route
- 01
Machine board and chassis datums before cavity release.
- 02
Finish connector, insert and thermal interfaces in controlled setups.
- 03
Mask conductive or precision zones during finish.
- 04
Inspect fit, alignment and cosmetic acceptance before packing.
Drawing and RFQ controls

|---|---|
| PCB datum scheme | Tie standoffs and connector openings to the board locating features. |
| EMI contact | Mark conductive surfaces and finish exclusions. |
| Thermal stack | Define pad compression, heat-spreader flatness and installed state. |

Edge AI Enclosures & Server Chassis buyer questions
01When is a machined enclosure better than sheet metal?
Choose machining for tightly related multi-face interfaces, integrated thermal paths, local wall thickness and sealed or rugged structures. Sheet metal is usually better for larger constant-wall covers.
02How are EMI contact areas handled during anodizing?
Mark them as masked or post-machined conductive zones and define the acceptable surface condition after finish.
